Why Join SVQG?

SVQG offers more than just quilting—it’s a welcoming space to reconnect with old friends, forge new friendships, and bask in the warmth of camaraderie united by our shared love for quilting. From renowned guest speakers and enriching workshops to our lively annual auction, service projects, and engaging events like raffles and door prize giveaways, there’s always something exciting happening within our community.

Membership Quilt Show

Every other year, SVQG hosts a spectacular quilt show. Regardless of skill level, members are encouraged to showcase their projects and share their quilting treasures with our enthusiastic visitors. Our quilt shows also feature a silent auction, boutique, vendors, special displays, and educational demonstrations.

How to Join

Joining SVQG is simple! Annual dues are currently set at $30.00. You can easily become a member by filling out our printable form, which can be mailed or brought to our next meeting. **Since it is after July, dues are 1/2 price! $15 membership through December 2026!

Bringing Guests

We love welcoming guests to our meetings! Guests are invited to attend one meeting per membership year. On their second visit, guests are kindly asked to pay dues and become official members of our quilting community.

Membership Benefits

Bringing Sunshine

We all need a bit of sunshine in our lives from time to time. In the Guild, we celebrate member birthdays with a “TOY” block, which stands for “Thinking of You.”

Additionally, if someone is in need of a little brightness during an illness, please inform the current Sunshine Chair so that we can send out a TOY block to uplift their spirits.

If you’re interested in creating a TOY block to brighten someone’s day, the instructions are below.

Challenges

Periodically, the Shenandoah Valley Quilters Guild presents challenges for its members to participate in. These challenges may even be showcased in our quilt show.

Below are the instructions for the latest President’s Challenge Quilt.

Block of the Month

Each month, the Guild introduces a new Block of the Month pattern to encourage members to embrace new techniques and quilting styles.

Below you’ll find the Block of the Month along with block patterns from previous months.
