Join us for our next meeting, Saturday, May 21st  for an opportunity to get to know other quilters in our area.  We will enjoy a lecture and workshop by  Debe Thomas, a local quilter who enjoys working with traditional patterns;, especially finding “quick tricks” to make cutting and construction faster and easier. The morning lecture will be “Journey into Curves and Circles.”  She will be sharing with us various ways to include circles in our quilts with ease. In the afternoon Debe will give a workshop on “A Less in Positivity”.  This workshop will involve slicing a simple block and reassembling it into a very complex looking block that is really not hard at all.

Welcome to the Shenandoah Valley Quilters’ Guild. Our group currently averages about 100 members who meet monthly to share our common love and appreciation of quilting and fiber arts. Most meetings are highlighted by a lecture followed by a workshop on a variety of topics. At our monthly Show & Tell you will see a variety of styles of quilts from traditional to modern, hand and machine quilted, thread painting, bead work and many, many other techniques. We recently finished a beautiful raffle quilt pictured above. Many hands contributed to the creation of this hand pieced and hand appliqued treasure.

We are also gearing up for our 2016 quilt show, The Thread that Binds Us, which will celebrate our nearly 30 years of history as a guild. We would love to have you join us for a meeting or as a regular member! We learn so much from each other and I know that you have both inspiration and techniques to share that will be new to the group. Come join the fun. We meet on the third Saturday of each month at 9:30 am at Sunnyside Retirement Community in Rockingham, VA. Click here for directions.

Hope to see you soon!
